PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Izal is a very small village and there are no shops, except for the “sociedad” of the village, a kind of local meeting place, which opens almost every weekend, where you can have a beer, fizzy drink…
What we do have in Izal is some marketers who, througout the year, come to the town, every few days or once a week:
Bakery: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, in winter. Every two days, in summer
Greengrocer: on Saturdays
Butchery: on Saturdays
Frozen products and others: on Wednesday afternoon
Doing the grocery shopping in nearby towns, such as Esparza, Ezcaroz or Otsagabia may be a good excuse to visit them.
On your way to Izal, you can stop in Lumbier, a town with some grocers, butcher´s and bakeries.
The house has an inflatable swimming-pool for kids. In addition, when temperatures climb, you can take a refreshing dip in the wonderful corners Salazar river offers, in the natural swimming-pool of Benasa Gorge, which is within 15 minutes drive, or in the swimming-pool of the camping in Esparza, within the same short distance.
Yes, but there are some years in which it snows heavily and not that much in some others. In either case, it is advisable to have chains or winter tyres during the coldest months.
No matter what season it is, our advice is always to bring clothing in layers, because the weather may be very changeable and temperatures may range quite a lot from day to night.
